During the 2022 Manning Passing Academy, some of the quarterbacks in attendance have taken the time to let fans know a little more about themselves, including LSU‘s Myles Brennan. The Long Beach, Mississippi native has spent the entirety of his collegiate career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. And that has bled into his taste in music. During an interview, Brennan revealed that the song he listens to before every LSU game comes from one of Louisiana’s own Lil Wayne.

“Right Above It, Lil Wayne. One hundred percent,” said Brennan. “One hundred percent. Every game. Put my earbuds it, that’s it. That’s the first one. Then I’m super chill country, just low key. You know, quarterback vibes.”

This season Brennan is trying to do something he has been unable to do since being anointed the starter in 2020, complete a season as the starting quarterback. After LSU’s historic national championship win in 2019, Hiseman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow took his talents to the NFL, ushering in a new quarterback era in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately, just three weeks into the 2020 season, Brennan was ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an abdominal injury against Missouri. The following year, before the start of the 2021 season, Brennan suffered another season-ending injury during training camp After breaking his arm in a freak accident.

Under Brian Kelly, the Tigers new head coach, the senior quarterback is giving it one last shot at leading the team into battle at Tiger stadium. Fans will be amped to see him get ready for each game regardless of what music Brennan listens to. But knowing that it’s Louisana’s own Lil Wayne will hype them up even more, just as long as the game ends in a Tiger victory.

The Manning Passing Academy Camp

The 2022 Manning Passing Academy runs from June 23 through June 26 at Nicholls State in Louisiana. It was founded by Archie Manning, father of Peyton and Eli Manning and grandfather of Arch Manning — the No. 1 recruit in the nation this year, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Peyton and Eli Manning both serve as associate directors alongside Cooper Manning, Arch Manning’s father.

All told, 45 quarterbacks will participate in the camp, and some huge names are among the group. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is the most notable, winning the Heisman Trophy last season to help lead the Crimson Tide to a national championship game appearance. Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud is also on the list after finishing fourth in the Heisman voting last year.
