LSU linebacker Mike Jones Jr. is already impressed with the way five-star linebacker Harold Perkins is carrying himself around campus.

Joining Billy Embody on The Bengal Tiger Podcast, the Tigers linebacker spoke about what the recruit brimming with potential is doing already to show promise.

“It can get crazy for a young guy whenever you first get into college, but from what I’ve seen he’s looking like a veteran, at least from the way he handles himself off the field,” began Jones. “I’ve had some meetings with Coach [Matt] House, sometimes it’s just me in there, and I’ve noticed sometimes he’ll be in there too. I’m like okay. He’s getting it. And it took me awhile to realize the importance of the mental side of defense, and playing in college.

“Of course, freaky athletic. Can run well. Change of direction is great, and he works his tail off too. Super excited for him, and he’s going to be a great player for sure.”

As you can see, the impressive attitude Harold Perkins has displayed shows LSU’s new voice — Brian Kelly — is getting through to the locker room. The Tigers could surprise some people next season with their newfangled motivation to prove people wrong.

Anthony Bradford opens up about the new attitude around LSU, his offseason goals

It’s a time of change in Baton Rouge. There’s a new head football coach, freshmen and transfers are arriving to campus, and a new season is just around the corner for LSU. Tigers offensive lineman Anthony Bradford sat down with The Bengal Tiger podcast to discuss the evolution of LSU’s locker room since Brian Kelly was hired and what he expects to accomplish individually this summer in the weight room.

Bradford was asked about the team environment as a whole on the podcast. “Everybody’s in a good attitude,” he said of summer workouts. That, “surprisingly” the summer workouts have “been fun” according to the big fella. It’s a jolly group under coach Kelly. Which Bradford explained is one of the coaches goals. He said Kelly and the whole team are trying to create a team environment, where the players are connected to one another. LSU is establishing chemistry early in the first year under a new head coach.

Bradford also said he has some of his own personal goals he’s locked in on during workouts this summer. He says, “the big goal for me is getting into shape,” with a focus on improving his endurance. Bradford said he wants to “get my endurance up” so that he’s “able to attack the assignment every play during the season.”
