Smyrna (Del.) High School four-star quarterback Cameron Edge announced Wednesday he had reclassified from the 2023 class to 2022 and signed with the Maryland Terrapins.

Edge is one of the top quarterbacks in the country and is expected to be ranked in the top-20 range once his ranking adjusts to the 2022 class. He also had scholarship offers from Penn State, LSU, Kentucky, Boston College, Tennessee, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon and others.

Cameron Edge took an official visit to Maryland this past weekend. It was enough for him to go ahead and decide to become part of the Terps’ 2022 class.

Delaware is not known for its football talent. But Cameron Edge has become one of its best prospects in recent memory. He spent his first two years at Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic before transferring back home to Smyrna (Del.) High.

Before he reclassified, he was ranked as the No. 300 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Maryland has the nation’s No. 35 2022 recruiting class and 8th-best class in the B1G. The Terps also signed four-star LB Jaishawn Barham, four-star WR Shaleak Knotts, four-star WR Octavian Smith Jr. and four-star RB Ramon Brown.
