Class of 2023 four-star prospect Jamie Kaiser has committed to Maryland, he tells On3.

The 6-foot-5 small forward originally from Burke, Va. chose the Terrapins over a final group of Indiana and Virginia. Kaiser also received offers from Wisconsin, Harvard, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Miami, Ohio State, Illinois, and several others.

Kaiser is the No. 93 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 18 small forward and the No. 10 player in the state of Florida. It should be noted that Kaiser will play his senior season at powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

On3’s evaluators are much higher than the industry on Kaiser, ranking him 37th nationally in the class.

Kaiser on his commitment to Maryland

“I chose Maryland mainly because of the people that I’ll be around, but most importantly the coaching staff and coach (Kevin) Willard. Having a large role right away is something I really wanted and Maryland had that opportunity for me my freshman year.”

What type of player is Maryland getting in Jamie Kaiser?

“They’re getting a tough kid, who’s a winner, that makes winning basketball plays and wants nothing more but to win and bring the program back to what it is supposed to be.”

Kaiser has been watching Maryland basketball since he was a kid.

“I’ve gone to Maryland games since first grade so I know what Maryland looks like at its highest.”

Scouting Summary

“Jamie Kaiser is a long-armed, strong frame wing. His jump shot is textbook, and he takes it with deep range and confidence. The lateral mobility will be a question, but his strength and motor allow him to be a good defender. Kaiser knows his game and his spots and plays an efficient basketball brand. He was a high major football player with multiple P6 offers. Recently has said he will focus on basketball solely. Kaiser’s dad played football at Slippery Rock, and his cousin, Eric Hicks, played in the NFL for 13 years. Simply put, Kaiser produces.”
