Kennesaw (Ga.) Kennesaw Mountain three-star interior offensive lineman Connor Lew wants to develop into the best player he can be.

He believes that will happen under Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal. That’s why Lew announced Friday that he would be heading to Coral Gables for college.

“I chose Miami because I can get developed into the best offensive lineman possible by Coach Mirabal and Cristobal,” Lew told On3. “Coach Cristobal is one of the only OL-minded head coaches in college football and that has stood out to me from the jump.”

Lew also took official visits to Auburn, Clemson and Georgia, his other three finalists. He most recently visited Miami for an official visit on June 10.

The 6-foot-3, 282 pound prospect is the No. 529 overall recruit and No. 42 interior offensive lineman in the On3 Consensus. On3 rates him even higher as the No. 36 interior offensive lineman.

“At Miami they not only talk about family, but throughout my entire official visit, they showed it,” Lew said. “Everyone got along and everyone genuinely cares about everyone.”

Lew is the latest player to join the Hurricanes’ 2023 recruiting class, which ranked No. 6 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings at the start of the day. Miami’s group also ranks No. 1 in the ACC and now contains 17 commitments.

The Hurricanes have five top-70 prospects committed, including Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and Pittsburg (Calif.) four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada. All five of those players have committed to the school since late June, corresponding with Miami’s hot streak on the recruiting trail.

“Miami gives me the chance to play early alongside a great 2023 recruiting class,” Lew said. “This 2023 class is going to be special and I’m excited to get to be a part of it. The U is officially back to work.”

Lew has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
