Mount Pleasant (S.C.) Oceanside Collegiate Academy four-star offensive tackle Monroe Freeling will be paying a visit this weekend to Miami for its Elite Prospect Day.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Freeling as the No. 68 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle. He is also the fourth-best offensive tackle and top player from the state of South Carolina.

Freeling is rated slightly higher by On3 as the No. 53 overall player in the 2023 On300 ranking. On3 also ranks him as the fourth-best offensive tackle and top player from South Carolina.

The only offensive tackles ranked ahead of him in the On300 are Monroe (La.) Neville four-star prospect Zalance Heard, Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman four-star prospect Charles Jagusah and Des Moines (Iowa) Southeast Polk four-star prospect Kadyn Proctor.

Freeling has not released any top schools list. But after his visit to Clemson during the season, he told Joseph Hastings of Clemson Sports that all his offers was fairly neck-and-neck.

“I think they’re all pretty equal but Clemson is definitely one of the favorites just because of them being in-state and the really good first impression they put on me,” Freeling told Clemson Sports. “The first impressions don’t lie. I had a really good time the first time with my mom. My mom, she really loved it.”

The Hurricanes hosted a visit for Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart, the top uncommitted 2022 recruit left on the board, this past weekend.

The visit went very well, and Mario Cristobal is likely hoping that momentum carries over into this weekend’s visits.

“I don’t know how to explain it, but when you step on campus and meet with the new coaches, it’s just a different feeling,” Stewart told On3.
