‘I love Mario Cristobal:’ Cyrus Moss announces he’s committed to Miami

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Four-star EDGE Cyrus Moss of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman didn’t get to play in the All-American Bowl. But that didn’t stop him from having his moment in the sun.

Cyrus Moss announced he’s committed to Miami Saturday afternoon during the broadcast of the All-American Bowl in the Alamodome. Moss had to do the announcement virtually because he was in isolation due to COVID-19 protocols.

Even so, it was a special moment for Moss. It ended one of the few remaining recruitments that there was actual suspense with.

With Cyrus Moss away from the media spotlight this week it allowed for rampant speculation to develop. Moss said he signed his letter of intent on the final day of the early signing period but waited until Saturday to make the official announcement.

Oregon, Arizona State, and especially USC, made things interesting, but Moss went with the school he had the most clarity with.

That school was Miami.

“With Coach (Mario) Cristobal, I already loved him at Oregon,” Moss said. “I just wanted to see him at Miami. It was my first time at Miami, and it was a very insightful and impressive visit.

“Coach Cristobal is the same guy he was at Oregon. He has the same vision, the same passion. With the freedom he is given there, I think he will do big things. I learned a lot about Miami, it is a great school, and spending more time with Coach Cristobal was great.”

Cyrus Moss is ranked as the No. 83 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is also the No. 8 EDGE and second-ranked player in Nevada. With his commitment, the Cane
