For nearly 15 years, the Miami Hurricanes have played their home football games at Hard Rock Stadium. Prior, the Orange Bowl was considered their stadium but they have always been in downtown Miami, never in Coral Gables. However, there could be something new in the works from John and Johnny Ruiz.

On Monday night, the Ruiz duo revealed an updated plan of what he calls the “Tropical Park Concept” and bring a new home football stadium to the Hurricanes’ program. In what should hold near 65,000, Ruiz says there would be a retractable roof in play as well.

Check out the design below.

When fans began to ask about parking, John Ruiz was quick to point out it would not be a problem. Not only would fans be able to park around the stadium but also underneath, with 16,000 parking spots available. Fans from all over could travel to see Miami play football.

As for festivities around the stadium, a Miami Live! would be built as well, meaning fans would have a place to tailgate before and after games. In what can already be a lively, ruckus crowd, Ruiz and his design would give Miami a top-level atmosphere in college football.

There’s already a ton of excitement around the Hurricanes’ program and a new stadium would be just the latest wave of positive news. Since head coach Miami Cristobal left Oregon and came back home, he has brought back the Miami brand to the forefront. Recruiting has been on fire and Cristobal has yet to step foot on the field.

When he does for the first time, it will be at Rock Hard Stadium. However, Cristobal could have a brand new facility to call home in the near future, only adding to the fantastic sell he has at his disposal. With the Ruiz duo and their team leading the charge, a top-quality facility is in the works.
