Former Miami star Mark Walton has been accused of armed robbery, stemming from a February incident, according to local radio host Andy Slater. The former running back not only played for the Hurricanes, but the Dolphins in his hometown.

Since the end of his football career, Mark Walton has faced many legal issues leading up to the latest allegation of armed robbery. He was arrested four times in 2019 and once more in 2021 on a variety of charges. They stem from evading police to attacking a pregnant woman.

According to Slater, a judge ordered that Walton remain held in jail without bond on Wednesday morning. The details of his latest arrest include at least one more suspect.

“Mark Walton is accused of pointing a gun at a man and demanding his Rolex and other watches,” said Slater. “Cops say there’s video of this February incident. A passenger in Walton’s car allegedly completed the robbery.”

After his college career at Miami, Walton was selected No. 112 in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Over two seasons, he ran for 235 yards and added 130 receiving yards with the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins.

More issues for Mark Walton

The recent run of legal issues for Mark Walton started in the 2019 offseason when he faced three arrests in the offseason. He also faced a fourth in November of that year. After a misdemeanor marijuana charge, misdemeanor battery charge and misdemeanor weapons charge – among other things – he faced his most serious accusation after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman.

The charges from that aggravated battery case were later dropped, but not before another arrest for violating his restraining order. In 2021, his legal issues again came up after he was accused of breaking a Pizza Hut window.

The alleged armed robbery could land Walton significant jail time if charged and convicted with the video evidence referenced.
