Mike Nichols, who is representing Michigan State defensive back Khary Crump, addressed the media following Crump’s felony charge Monday afternoon. He was charged with felonious assault after allegedly fighting with a Michigan player in the tunnel altercation earlier this season.

“We represent, proudly, No. 14, Khary Crump Jr., also known as KJ. He’s charged with felonious assault,” Nichols said, via Chris Solari on Twitter. “We don’t want to try this case in the media, we plan to try it in the court. Remember, anytime there’s an assault where there’s a fight that’s involved, self defense is always in play. All we’re going to do is prepare for trial, look at the discovery and go from there.
