Michigan State has extended an offer to Del Valle (Texas) four-star wide receiver Braylon James.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has James as the No. 112 overall prospect, No. 17 wide receiver and No. 20 player from the state of Texas in the 2023 cycle.

Del Valle head coach Bobby Acosta told Sports Illustrated last May that in addition to James’ standout ability on the field, he is also a five-star person.

“The first thing you see is that he has length,” Acosta said. “He has big hands, good speed, good body control. Then you watch his ball skills…he has tremendous ball skills.

The Spartans have two commits in the 2023 cycle at the moment in Dexter (Mich.) four-star tight end Brennan Parachek and New Caney (Texas) four-star running back Kedrick Reescano.

Michigan State’s 2022 recruiting class ranks 23rd in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, good for fifth in the Big Ten.

The Spartans most recently earned a commitment from Henderson (Nev.) Liberty four-star wide receiver Germie Bernard, who flipped to Michigan State from Washington.

Bernard is the No. 223 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus.
