Offers for Hiram (Ga.) athlete Walter Matthews are beginning to accumulate.
Matthews announced an offer from Michigan State on his Twitter Friday morning. The Spartans join Purdue as Matthews’ second Big Ten offer of the week, bringing his total FBS offers to six. He holds additional offers from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Georgia Southern and Cincinnati.
Walter Matthews is a four-star prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 6-foot-7, 245-pounder also ranks No. 40 in the 2024 On300.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, “family legacy school” Vanderbilt leads the way for Matthews’ commitment early in the cycle at 75.9%. April has been busy for Walter Matthews, having taken unofficial visits to Vanderbilt, UCF and in-state Georgia all this month.
