Five-star QB Dante Moore recaps Michigan visit

Five-star quarterback Dante Moore of Detroit (Mich.) Martin Luther King High visited the in-state Michigan Wolverines on Friday. Moore has been on several trips this offseason, including official visits to LSU and Oregon in April. Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, Auburn, Florida State an others have hosted Moore on unofficial visits in recent months as well.

The 6-foot-2, 195 pound Moore spoke with On3 about his latest trip to Michigan, who has hosted the talented quarterback on campus several times. .

Michigan offered Moore in the 8th grade

“I truly respect the program,” Moore said. “They’ve been the first school in my process, and you just have to really respect that. That’s where day ones came from.”

After visiting the university a total of six times, Dante Moore has gotten very familiar with things and has only strengthened his relationship with both players and coaches.

“I’ve been up there of course a million times, but going back up every time and having new conversations and re-connecting with players on the team is always a great feeling,” Moore said. “The visit overall was great, and of course I have to respect them, like I said, about the day ones.”

“Also, the relationships up there with me are very strong. Coach Weiss and I have built a very strong bond from his time of being there, but with everybody else, we have great bonds as well.”

Pocket passer who is one of the more accurate and efficient quarterbacks in the 2023 cycle. Skilled as a touch passer with the ability to layer throws and deliver with accuracy and nuance. Has a quick, natural release that aids in the short passing and RPO game. Shows a good arm both on video and in camp settings. Capable of hitting on deep shots off of play action. Put together a highly efficient and productive junior season in leading Martin Luther King to a state title while completing 73 percent of his passes for over 3,000 yards and 40 touchdowns against three interceptions. Does not appear to be quite the athlete or run threat as some of the other top quarterbacks in the cycle at this time. Will need to continue improving his movement skills and foot quickness.
