Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star safety Keon Sabb has committed to Michigan, he tells On3.

Sabb was previously committed to Clemson but decommitted the day after Brent Venables was hired by Oklahoma.

However, there was smoke of a decommitment in the weeks leading up to the decision.

Most notably, Sabb went on an unofficial visit at the end of November to watch the Wolverines take on Ohio State in The Game. Dabo Sweeney has a no-visit policy for recruits so Sabb taking a visit somewhere other than Clemson was a big deal.

Sabb was all lined up to play with two IMG Academy teammates in five-star cornerback Daylen Everette and four-star EDGE Jihaad Campbell at Clemson. But all three decommitted from the Tigers after Venables left for the Great Plains of Oklahoma.

Keon Sabb Scouting Summary

Earlier this fall, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons watched Sabb play in person. Simmons wrote the following on Sabb’s performance:

“Sabb is a big safety that can run, cover and hit. Some think he would end up in the box at Clemson as a linebacker, but whatever Brent Venables and the Tigers decide to label him at, Sabb is an athlete. He moved around a good bit on the back-end of the defense Friday night.”

Sabb is the No. 102 overall recruit in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 safety commit in the country.
