It was a tremendous season for Michigan, but it ended with a whimper when the Wolverines were defeated handily by Georgia in the Orange Bowl. Evidently, it was a double-whammy for star running back Hassan Haskins.

First, Haskins lost his chance to play in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Now, the former Michigan star running back has revealed he suffered an injury in the team’s loss to the Bulldogs.

“Hassan Haskins said he suffered a high ankle sprain in the Orange Bowl,” tweeted Anthony Broome of On3’s The Wolverine. “Skipped Senior Bowl week to heal, unsure of if he’ll do all the workouts here. But wants to compete.”

Last season, Haskins ran for 1,327 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Wolverines. Now, he’s attempting to up his stock for the 2022 NFL Draft. However, the former Wolverines star is still dealing with the fallout from his final college game.

Nevertheless, Hassan Haskins will attempt to make a name for himself at the next level. If his performance at Michigan is any indication, there isn’t anyone who should bet against his future.

Moreover, Hassan Haskins carried the biggest load of his Michigan career last season. When he decided to declare for the NFL Draft, he stated it was an “incredible blessing” to be a part of the Wolverines.

“These last four years playing for the University of Michigan has been an incredible blessing,” Haskins wrote in a post on Instagram. “Playing in front of more than 110,000 of the greatest fans in the entire world is an experience unlike any other in college football.

“As I embark on this journey towards playing in the NFL, I do so with great humility for all you have given me. Regardless of my new city and new team colors I don, I will forever be your son, your brother, your teammate and will forever wear the maize and blue as a Michigan Wolverine.”

As you can see, Haskins will forever be remembered as an important Michigan star. Heck, former Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis summed it up perfectly, stating “Hassan is everything to us” ahead of the Orange Bowl.

Now, Hassan Haskins is embarking on a brand new journey. Michigan faithful will be behind him every step of the way.
