Detroit (Mich.) King quarterback Dante Moore is one of the biggest quarterback recruits in The Mitten State in recent memory, and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has taken notice.

The Wolverines’ head man, along with quarterback coach Matt Weiss, were seen Friday night at Moore’s at high school game against Cass Tech. Moore is ranked as the No. 20 overall player and No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 On100 rankings.

Moore holds more than two dozen offers and is the prime quarterback target in the 2023 class for the Wolverines, as well as Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame and others.

He visited the Michigan State in September and also tripped to Penn State during the month and told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons that the trip to Michigan State was an impressive one.

“Michigan State has shown it is a great team offensively and defensively,” Moore said. “They have great playmakers on the outside making the quarterback’s job easier. That’s showing from the yardage.”

The Wolverines, though, were the first school to offer Moore — all the wya back in the seventh grade.

“First of all, I need to say a big thank you to Michigan,” Moore told Simmons over the summer. “They put me on the map. Without them, I mean, I would probably have offers, but they just put me on the map. Overall, it’s a great program. Coach (Jim) Harbaugh, he coached in the NFL – that’s the highest part in football. He’s going to take care of you as a great person in life. It’s a great program. Coach Matt Weiss is a great quarterbacks coach. He’s just great.”

Michigan will continue to make him a priority, as evidenced by tonight’s visit, and Harbaugh and Co. have to feel good about their chances.
