Rising 2023 offensive tackle J’ven Williams entered the week with zero offers to play college football. He now has five.

The Reading (Pa.) Wyomissing product picked up an offer from Michigan on Thursday.

It has been a busy week for J’ven Williams

J’ven Williams started the week relatively unknown. His profile is quickly rising.

Williams started the week with his first offer, which came from Pittsburgh on Monday.

Wednesday night, he received his second offer from Boston College. Soon after, Temple extended an offer his way.

Temple is about a 90-minute drive from Reading.

Virginia Tech then offered Williams on Thursday morning but the Wolverines extended their offer.

The 6-foot-5 linemen will also be visiting Penn State this weekend.

He also told Pittsburgh Sports Now earlier in the week that he plans on taking a trip an Ann Arbor sometime soon.

Williams is an impressive track and field athlete

J’ven Williams is not only a rising star in football, but an established name in the throwing events of track and field.

He won the 2021 Pennsylvania District 3 Class 2A shot put competition with a throw of 52 feet, 3 inches.

Williams was also a contender for gold in the district championship but fouled on his three throws. At the time, there were only two people in the state who had ever done better than Williams’ best throw of 176 feet, 2 inches.

His brother Rushard Williams won the shot put contest and finished in third in the discus. He is attending Southwestern to throw.

Rushard later won the state Class 2A championship and J’ven finished in third.

J’ven Williams has improved his numbers since then. According to his Twitter page, his personal best is 59 feet, 3 inches in shot put and approximately 185 feet in the discus.
