Walled Lake (Minn.) Walled Lake Western three-star quarterback Drew Viotto has committed to Minnesota, announcing the news Friday on social media.

He will be joining his high school teammate and three-star running back Darius Taylor in the recruiting class.

Viotto is the No. 1112 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.2k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“First and foremost I would like to thank God for gifting me with the talents to play division one football and guiding me throughout this entire process. Secondly, I want to thank my parents for all they have sacrificed for me to be where I am today and also thank you to my sister for always being there at my games and supporting me. Thanks to all my family and friends back in Canada for supporting me along this journey. I want to also thank all the coaches that have helped me along the way especially Coach Cioroch, my QB trainer Coach Dooley, Coach Wilson, and my trainer Nate Collins, without you all I wouldn’t be the person and athlete I am today. I also want to thank all my past and present teammates for being there for me and I can’t wait to take the field with you guys this season. With that being said I am super excited and grateful to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota to continue my academic and athletic career as well as continuing to play with my teammate Darius Taylor. I can’t wait to work with Coach Fleck, Coach Ciarrocca and the rest of the staff,” Viotto said on Twitter.
