Former Tulsa SF Jared Garcia commits to Nebraska

Former Tulsa small forward Jared Garcia committed to Nebraska out of the transfer portal, On3 has learned. He previously played for Charlotte for two seasons before a JUCO year prior to Tulsa.
Last season, Garcia put up 9.6 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 0.9 assists per game and shot 46.5% from the floor. It was a career year in scoring for Garcia.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Garcia was a three-star recruit out of Katy (Texas) St. Thomas More, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 3 overall prospect in the state, the No. 42 small forward in the class and the No. 185 overall prospect in the class.

Jared Garcia was a solid addition in the portal considering Nebraska had some roster turnover. Guard Gavin Griffiths entered in earlier this month. Griffiths spent one season with the Cornhuskers after starting his career at Rutgers.

Griffiths in a former four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 42 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, and No. 8 shooting guard.
He averaged 2.1 points per game, including 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists during his lone season in Lincoln. He played in just 16 games during the 2024-25 season, and did not suit up for the Huskers during the College Basketball Crown this offseason.
Griffiths was slightly more productive during his time as a Scarlet Knight. He averaged 5.8 points per game as a sophomore across 32 appearances as a true freshman. He started in three of those matchups.
