Four-star edge Cameron Lenhardt of Staten Island (NY) IMG Academy announced his commitment to Nebraska Thursday evening.

The 6-foot-3, 245 pounder chose the Cornhuskers over Michigan State and Penn State.

Lenhardt on why he chose Nebraska

“When I went on my official visit, I felt all the love from the whole school, the staff, the fans, and the team,” Lenhardt said. “Nothing but love was shown to my family, and that is a big reason why I committed.”

Relationship with coaching staff + Nebraska’s plan for Cameron Lenhardt

“I’m close with coach Chinander, coach Dawson, and coach Frost,” Lenhardt said. “They have been very consistent throughout all four years of my high school career. When I get there they plan on using me like an edge hybrid, and some outside linebacker too.”

The IMG Academy standout joins coach Frost and the Cornhuskers’ No. 34 class in the 2023 Consensus Team Rankings.

Lenhardt currently ranks as the No. 305 Player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting services. He also tabs in at the No. 36 edge, and the No. 61 player in the state of Florida.
