A scary scene took place during Saturday’s North CarolinaNC State game, with Terquavion Smith suffering an elbow and neck injury. He was taken off the court after being fouled by Leaky Black, who was then ejected from the game due to a Flagrant 2 foul.

Black took time to send a heartfelt message to Smith after the game, posting on his Instagram story. He said nothing was intentional on his end, saying he hopes Smith is able to get back on the court soon.

“Prayers out to Baby T,” Black said. “Never like to see a guy get hurt. Never was intended for anything foul to happen. He’s a helluva player. Hope he gets back on the court. Praying for him and a quick recovery.”

While North Carolina and NC State have an in-state rivalry, this one goes way past it. Black made sure his message got out there and will be supporting Smith along the entire way.

Terquavion Smith leaves game after scary incident

NC State guard Terquavion Smith was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon in the second half of the NC State-North Carolina matchup in the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Smith was driving to the hoop on a routine layup but was hit in the face by North Carolina’s Leaky Black in mid-air.

As Black was trying to block the shot attempt, it caused Smith to land very awkwardly on the floor. The Smith Center was quiet for several minutes as the medical personnel and EMTs tended to Smith on the baseline. He was down for several minutes and according to the ACC Network, Smith has what is being defined as an “elbow and neck injury” at this point in time.

A Flagrant 2 foul was assessed on North Carolina’s Leaky Black following the play, which means he was ejected from the game. Smith was eventually taken off the floor on a stretcher after several minutes. Here is the video of him being taken off the floor by medical personnel.
