Hubert Davis and all three North Carolina assistant coaches sat courtside for four-star Jarin Stevenson’s 39-point, 14-rebound, 5-block performance on Tuesday night.

The 39 points is a season-high for Stevenson, and he finished 10-of-18 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Stevenson is the No. 16 player in the 2024 On3 Consensus. He is averaging 21.8 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks this season while shooting 62 percent from the field and 36 percent from three.

Stevenson has taken a single official visit to Georgetown. He has visited North Carolina, NC State, and Virginia unofficially.

North Carolina currently has the No. 1 class in the 2024 On3 Team Rankings, headlined by five-star guards Elliot Cadeau and Ian Jackson. Four-star small forward Drake Powell and four-star center James Brown round out the four-man class.

Stevenson and Powell were high school teammates as freshmen at Pittsboro (NC) Northwood High. This was prior to Stevenson’s current Pittsboro (NC) Seaforth High opening. The pair made it to the North Carolina State championship game.

Stevenson’s mother played basketball for Sylvia Hatchell in the mid-90s. She won three ACC Championships while playing for the Tar Heels.

Stevenson talks UNC

*from a previous interview with On3

“I’ve been over there quite a bit; it’s close by,” Stevenson told On3. “Coach Hubert Davis is great; he’s been really kind. I like their run and guy style and how they’re great on offense. It stood out how supportive they are, their fan base. Their fans are so passionate; I like that about UNC. They always get a big turnout for their games. The community has been great, and they’ve been treating me kindly as a recruit.”
