The first game Bill Belichick coaches as the head coach at North Carolina is just 59 days away.

Belichick, who took the job in Chapel Hill after spending 24 seasons as the head coach of the New England Patriots, has however been all over the news this offseason for non-football related headlines.

A large portion of these headlines relate back to his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, who has made her name well-known since being revealed as Belichick’s girlfriend in June 2024. ESPN’s Heather Dinich, who is seemingly fed-up with all of the non-football related Belichick headlines, shredded Belichick and North Carolina on Friday morning’s edition of “Get Up.”

“Listen, stay out of TMZ, OK?” Dinich said. “Enough of these offseason headlines. Don’t get embarrassed on the field or off of the field. And the reality is, when I look at Belichick, I feel like the intimidation aura has disappeared. That’s the main story righ now for me. As far as on the field, they are looking up at Clemson and Miami, if not several other teams in the ACC. But Clemson is the team to beat. North Carolina is still an afterthought even with Belichick as its head coach when it comes to football right now.”

Dinich claims she’s ‘seen too much of Belichick as a regular human’

Because of the coaching turnover, North Carolina lost a total of 41 players to the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. Belichick answered with 42 portalers committing to his Tar Heels program — the No. 8 class in this year’s team transfer rankings. He’s also bringing in 30 true freshmen to his roster, good for a top 50 recruiting class.

His roster is however still behind other ACC contenders in Clemson, Miami, SMU and Louisville and the North Carolina program has won 10 games in a season just once since 1997.

“Belichick isn’t likely to stick around long in Chapel Hill, and it’s fair to have concerns about how he will adapt to the college game,” Athlon Sports wrote about Belichick. “However, for a North Carolina program that has struggled to consistently at a high level, taking the opportunity to hire arguably the greatest coach in NFL history is a no-brainer.”

There’s no question that Belichick can win at Carolina, as he’s shown that he can do it before. However, Dinich finished her rant by letting the entire world know that she’s ‘seen too much of Belichick as a regular human this offseason.’

“When it comes to football, I have zero doubt that he can do everything it takes to win at North Carolina,” she said. “It’s these extraneous intangible things that have to stop. And to Paul (Finebaum’s) point about being a human. I think we’ve seen way too much of Belichick as a regular human being this offseason, if you ask me. Let’s get back to the coach.”
