Portsmouth (Va.) Churchland three-star athlete Brandyn Hillman received an offer from North Carolina on Tuesday. He announced the news over social media.

Hillman is not rated in the 2023 On3 Consensus. However, On3 rates him higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Hillman is the No. 16 athlete and No. 13 player in Virginia.

Over the last week, the 6-foot-1, 190 pound athlete has received offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Fighting Irish have a commanding lead for Hillman’s commitment at 81%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Tar Heels’ 2023 recruiting class currently includes one athlete in Swainsboro (Ga.) three-star athlete Ty Adams, the No. 1,304 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. North Carolina’s group is No. 22 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 5 in the ACC.

Hillman has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
