Notre Dame is still in the midst of finalizing its 2022 recruiting class, but 2023 linebacker Drayk Bowen is one of the Fighting Irish’s biggest priorities. Defensive coordinator Marcus Johnson made that known Friday night, attending Bowen’s game in northwest Indiana with his three sons.

Bowen, a consensus four-star in 2023, has already drawn more than two dozen offers from the likes of Notre Dame, LSU, Auburn, Clemson and others. His high school is a little more than an hour away from South Bend, and the Irish are largely considered the favorite. There’s still more than a year to go until the 2023 early signing period, but Notre Dame has made significant in-roads.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Bowen has already tripped to Clemson in September and went to Auburn last weekend. He is expected to see Notre Dame next weekend.

As a sophomore last season, Drayk Bowen totaled 80 tackles, including 13.5 for loss. He added five sacks, four forced fumbles and an interception. Through nine games this season, he’s notched 56 tackles and a pair of sacks.
