Four-star cornerback Justyn Rhett of Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman has announced his decommitment from Notre Dame.

The 6-foot, 183-pounder committed to Notre Dame on December 11th over Georgia and Alabama. Rhett is currently on a visit to Georgia.

He sent a statement to On3 regarding his decommitment.

To the University of Notre Dame, I’m so thankful that I had the opportunity to be recruited, offered a scholarship, and be committed to a prestigious university. I’d like to thank Coach Freeman and Coach Mickens for believing in me and allowing me to be a part of the Notre Dame family.

To the Irish community, I’d like to say thank you for treating me like family ever since I committed.

After further consideration and gathering information about my future dreams and aspirations, My family and I have decided that I will be decommitting from The University Notre Dame.

Justyn Rhett is ranked as the No. 141 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average between the four major recruiting sites. He ranks as the No. 15 cornerback in the nation and the third-best player in Nevada.

Rhett Scouting Summary

Justyn Rhett is a polished, athletic corner from one of the top high school programs nationally. He’s been on the radar for a while at Bishop Gorman and has been a good player in the Gaels secondary for a few years. Rhett is well-schooled technically. He also performs well in combine settings. He’s advanced physically and should come into college more ready to play than some of his peers.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
