As Boston College had its mind set on an upset against No. 12 Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish got a turnover they desperately needed. Then, Jeremiyah Love broke free for 94 yards – and hit the Heisman Trophy pose in the process.

Adon Shuler got a crucial interception deep in Notre Dame territory, giving the offense the ball as its on 6-yard line. That’s when Love, bringing flashbacks to last year’s College Football Playoff game against Indiana, rattled off a 94-yard touchdown run to make it a 25-10 Notre Dame lead.

At the end of the run, Love called his shot. He hit the Heisman Trophy pose in the back of the end zone as he celebrated the highlight-reel play.

The 94-yard run helped give Love 136 on the day, along with two touchdowns. He was the bright spot for a running game that struggled mightily against Boston College. Backfield mate Jadarian Price had nine carries for 12 yards, along with a lost fumble.

Quarterback CJ Carr looked solid once again, though. The redshirt freshman went 18 of 25 for 299 yards and two touchdowns to lead the offense. Jordan Faison was the leading receiver with four receptions for 82 yards while Will Pauling had four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

It wasn’t easy for Notre Dame on Saturday, though, as the Fighting Irish had trouble getting separation against Boston College. The Irish took a 12-7 lead into halftime after a missed PAT and failed extra point attempt. The Eagles then cut the lead to 12-10 after a surgical opening drive to start the second half.

Jeremiyah Love then responded with his first touchdown of the day, a 3-yard run, to make it an 18-10 Notre Dame lead – although yet another extra point missed. Then, the star running back all but sealed the victory with the back-breaking, 94-yard rush.

With the victory, Notre Dame improves to 6-2 and extended its winning streak to six in a row following back-to-back losses to start the year. The Fighting Irish are hoping to keep pace in the College Football Playoff race and got some notable results on Saturday.

No. 10 Miami – which beat Notre Dame in Week 1 – fell to SMU, and No. 9 Vanderbilt lost to Texas. Those games, along with the Irish’s Week 10 win, add to the intrigue around Tuesday’s first College Football Playoff reveal.
