The jockeying continues atop the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings as we hurtle toward the month of July.

After being passed by both Texas and Ohio State in the past week, Notre Dame has reclaimed the No. 2 spot in the rankings with the commitment of On3 five-star offensive tackle Charles Jagusah this morning.

Over the past seven days, the Longhorns added nine commitments, including those of On3 Consensus No. 1 overall player Arch Manning, top-35 wide receiver Johntay Cook and On3 top-25 safety Derek Williams. Ohio State, meanwhile, added a pair of five-star receiver commitments with Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate.

But the Fighting Irish are right on their heels as we head into a massive recruiting month, with dozens of commitments expected across the country over the next few weeks. That list includes a handful of prime Notre Dame targets, including four-star wide receiver Rico Flores and four-star cornerbacks Christian Gray and Micah Bell.

Marcus Freeman and Co. are now up to 16 commits in the 2023 cycle and looked poised to add more. The Fighting Irish finished 6th in the team rankings a year ago — an impressive feat given head coach Brian Kelly’s departure for LSU. But they’re coming for more.
