Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star wide receiver and Notre Dame commit C.J. Williams is hoping to visit USC and UCLA before he signs during the early signing period, he told 247 Sports.

“It’s nothing against Notre Dame, I still feel good there,” Williams said. “I just want to keep my options open and take these last visits since I have two left and hear what these schools have to say.”

He added that both schools have continued to recruit him hard even after he committed to the Fighting Irish in August and felt he owed them a chance to hear their pitches in person.

Williams might try to get out to Westwood for the Bruins’ game this Saturday but he isn’t sure if he will be able to swing it.

His visit to USC will be the weekend of December 7, he told Joseph Hastings of Clemson Sports

“I’m still locked in with Notre Dame but I have two more visits so why not take them,” Williams told 247 Sports.

Williams is the No. 115 overall prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the third-highest recruit in the Fighting Irish’s recruiting class, which is the No. 6 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Williams had previously talked with Hastings about the interest from the Trojans. He said he is interested to see who they hire for the position.

“For me, obviously, the opportunity to stay home and play at a high level and go to a great academic school is one that a lot of people wouldn’t be able to pass up. To play football less than 30-40 miles from where my parents are is, you know, ideal,” Williams said. “I think that would be, you know, a great spot to land at the end of the day.”
