The Ohio State Buckeyes fell on the road earlier on Saturday to the Michigan Wolverines. One of the key contributors to their loss was the deafening sound of the crowd at the big house. But according to Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud, there was something else that hindered their communication on the field.

After the game, at the Ohio State press conference, Stroud revealed that he lost his voice earlier in the week. Which made it difficult for him to communicate with his teammates on the field.

“I’m not using an excuse but, I lost my voice earlier in the week and I really can’t yell. So I’m trying my hardest to yell. I don’t really blame it on my line, I blame it on me, for getting sick. I tried to be as loud as I possibly could. When you get yourself out of wack like that it’s just it’s hard to bounce back, Stroud said.

The Buckeyes young signal-caller was not looking for sympathy or trying to give excuses for their poor level of pre-snap execution and communication. In fact, he did the opposite and put the onus on himself, as opposed to looking for somewhere to place the blame.

“I don’t know what type of sickness I have, but I’ve been sick all week. I’ve been just trying to get right, trying my voice back. But there’s not really too much to explain, sometimes you’ve got to play sick,” said Stroud.

Michigan fans storm field, celebrate win over Ohio State

The Michigan Wolverines have knocked off rival Ohio State for the first time since 2011, kicking off a celebration in The Big House and across the state. As the final whistle blew, fans stormed the field at Michigan Stadium to start the party with coaches and players in the middle of a snowy fog.

A career day from running back Hassan Haskins helped set the tone on Saturday. His 28 carries brought 169 yards and five touchdowns. A big day from defensive end Aidan Hutchinson on the opposite side of the ball helped ensure victory and allow Michigan fans to storm the field.

Michigan is now 11-1 heading into a Big Ten Championship game against the Wisconsin Badgers. Entering the day No. 5 in the College Football Playoff, the Wolverines will expect a big boost as they fly into the top-four and assert themselves as national championship contenders.
