Ohio State took care of business on Saturday, defeating Indiana by a score of 56-14 in Columbus.

Afterwards, Ryan Day spoke with Jenny Taft of FOX to explain his thoughts on the game, including the depth of his team after running back Miyan Williams left the game with an injury,.

“I think one of the things that’s been our strength is our depth this year,” stated Day. “Look at early on, it was the corners. We lost Jaxon [Smith-Njigba] early on. A couple guys hurt at running back. You saw Xavier [Johnson] step up. You saw Dallan [Hayden] play. So I think one of the strengths this year has been our depth.”

The Buckeyes running back had been dominant against Indiana, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. However, disaster struck towards the end of the second quarter, as the Ohio State ball carrier went down with a lower leg injury, needing help to get off the field and eventually being carted off.

However, he seemed to be in high spirits as he left the field, thawing up an O-H and a thumbs up as he was carted off.

On the season thus far, Williams has enjoyed immense success, rushing for 636 yards and 12 touchdowns entering Saturday’s game. Additionally, he’s added four receptions for 26 yards, as well.

In more positive news, Ohio State’s Kamryn Babb found the end zone on Saturday, and it was perhaps the best moment of the day for the Buckeyes. After watching a wide receiver who’s overcome so much injury adversity get his moment, Day was borderline emotional explaining what it means.

“Well, I think in today’s day and age in college football, there’s so many things that go on. To see somebody who’s over come four ACLs, to come back and get a touchdown pass in a stadium like this, it just says so much about who he is as a person and you can see what he means to our team,” added Day.

Finally, the Buckeyes are entering the final stretch run, and they’re playing some awesome football. Moving forward, Day is just taking it one game at a time.

“I think there was a lot of good things there,” stated Day. “A lot of things we’re going to grow on. Every week is a new season, and we have to regroup and build for Maryland, and just keep growing because we want to be playing our best football here in November.”

Ohio State controls their own destiny, and Ryan Day knows that. The Buckeyes will enjoy their blowout victory over the Hoosiers, but there’s plenty of work to be done until they’re satisfied.
