Ohio State freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson has already been racing his way into the Ohio State record books early in his career. So it’s only fitting he’s signing a NIL with a company that involves driving a fast car.

The phenom broke Archie Griffin’s freshman record against Tulsa last Saturday with the third-best rushing performance in Buckeyes history.

Now, the Virginia native is driving away in a Chevy Camaro RS as part of a Name, Image and Likeness deal with the Ricart Used Car Factory, an auto dealership in Columbus, Ohio.

The partnership between Henderson and Ricart includes a charitable donation as well, but no details have been released.

Early in his Ohio State career, Henderson has wasted no time in showing the college football world why he was rated as the nation’s top running back prospect. In his first college football game, Henderson took a screen pass 70 yards to the house against Minnesota, putting his world-class speed on fine display.

Then all he did last weekend against Tulsa was gash its defense to the tune of 277 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. His total rushing yards in that game were good enough for third in Buckeyes program history, behind only Trey Sermon’s 331 yards (2020) and Eddie George’s 315 (1995).

He currently ranks third in the nation in yards after contact with 236, according to PFF. In just three games, the former five-star prospect has piled up 346 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground. As a a receiver, he’s hauled in three catches for 87 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Henderson living up to his lofty billing early

Henderson enrolled at Ohio State in January to get a head start on his college football career. The uber-talented tailback was rated as the top-running back prospect in America, according to the On3 Class of 2021 rankings.

On3 also rated Henderson as the 20th best overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s listed at 5-foot-10-inches, 215-pounds and attended Hopewell High School (Virginia).

He didn’t play his senior season of high school football due to his school moving their season to the spring. The gifted tailback was finally named Hopewell’s starting running back as a junior and he responded in a big way, rushing for 2,424 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns.

In his career at HopewellTreVeyon Henderson compiled over 4,000 yards rushing with 50 touchdowns and helped the school win its second-consecutive state championship in 2019.

The Buckeyes face the Akron Zips on Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST.
