Oklahoma has extended an offer to Tallahassee (Fla.) John Paul II Catholic four-star safety Makari Vickers.

Vickers is the No. 85 overall player in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the seventh-best player at his position in the nation behind Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek five-star safety Caleb Downs, Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson four-star safety Tony Mitchell, Danvers (Mass.) IMG Academy four-star safety Joenel Aguero, Denton (Texas) Guyer four-star safety Peyton Bowen, New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star safety Derek Williams and Shiner (Texas) four-star safety Dalton Brooks.

Makari Vickers spent yesterday visiting Florida State, one of about 20 prospects to make the trip to Tallahassee over the weekend.

Others included Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star athlete Adam Hopkins, Jacksonville Orange Park four-star interior offensive lineman Roderick Kearney, Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood four-star quarterback Chris Parson, Lakeland (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Tyler Williams and Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview 2024 four-star cornerback Charles Lester III.

Parson is one of four Seminoles commits in the 2023 cycle, which currently ranks No. 9 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. The other commits are Miami Gulliver Prep four-star EDGE Lamont Green Jr., Lynn Haven (Fla.) A. Crawford Mosley three-star tight end Randy Pittman and Fort Pierce (Fla.) Fort Pierce Westwood three-star wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs.

Oklahoma has two commits in its 2023 class in Los Alamitos (Calif) High four-star wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. and Durango (Colo.) three-star offensive lineman Joshua Bates.
