College football fans and observers weren’t the only ones shocked by the news that Lincoln Riley was departing Oklahoma and heading to USC. You can add top-50 junior recruit Chandavian Bradley to the list of people that was stunned by the sudden departure.

Bradley, the nation’s No. 37 overall recruit in the 2023 class, had been linked heavily with the Sooners throughout the early part of his recruitment. He said the news was definitely unexpected.

“This changes my thoughts a little bit,” Bradley said.

Bradley of Platte City (Mo.) Platte County said he’s been texting with other OU targets and commits since the news broke and the word “shocked” has been used a lot.

OU will still be on Chandavian Bradley’s list

The good news for Sooner fans, though, is that it appears Bradley is far from writing Oklahoma off his list.

“I think until more comes out I’m keeping OU where they are,” Bradley said. “I’ve been talking to a few coaches from other schools. They’ve said themselves that I shouldn’t just look for coaching – but how the atmosphere of the place is and what’s best for me there.

“Some people I know very well that have had OU high are very unsure now. And the friendships and brotherhoods I have right now are going to play a part in what I decide.”

Chandavian Bradley, who visited Norman earlier this fall for a game, said there are a lot of reasons outside of Lincoln Riley to be excited about Oklahoma.

“I love OU and their facilities and fans,” Bradley said. “Once I take my visits there, we will see how that feels for me.”

Bradley close to releasing top schools

Even with the news on Sunday, Chandavian Bradley said he’s close to releasing an updated list of top schools. It’s expected that Oklahoma, Michigan State and Texas A&M will for sure be on the list.

On3 ranks Bradley as the No. 6 EDGE in the country and the top junior in Missouri. He ranks as the No. 69 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
