Zion Kearney on why he chose Oklahoma

“I fell in love with the culture of the winning tradition that OU has,” Kearney said. “They were big on family which played a major role in my recruiting. Coach Jones, coach Lebby, and coach Venables showed love and really recruited me hard from day 1. Lebby and Jones showed me exactly how they will use my skill set as well to develop me to be utilized better in their offense. The last factor was making sure my family can come out and watch me play with no complications.”

Kearney ranks as the No. 58 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 11 wide receiver and the No. 11 player in the state of Texas.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $123K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Zion Kearney Personal Life (via On3)

“Missouri City (Texas) Hightown coach Cornelius Anthony played college football at Texas A&M. So, he knows what it takes to be a star on the next level. That’s what makes his praise of Zion Kearney even more noteworthy. After catching 12 passes for 330 yards and three scores in 2021, Kearney caught 39 passes for 765 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022. Those numbers helped him earn unanimous first-team all-district honors as a junior. He also was timed at 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash at a TCU summer camp. “He’s fast, he’s confident, he’s got a great football IQ, and he makes plays when it matters,” Anthony told FanNation about Kearney. “He’s only going to get better and better. The sky is the limit with Zion.” Away from football, Kearney enjoys working out and says his favorite food is pizza. He also enjoys playing Madden. Kearney plans on majoring in history in college. His parents are Quantel Hollimon and Leroy Kearney.”
