Responding to recent comments made by USC head coach Lincoln Riley, the mother of new Oklahoma quarterback Nick Evers took a shot at OU’s former coach. Riley recently claimed that he did not recruit from Oklahoma when he recruited quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Malachi Nelson, but that he recruited the transfer portal. On a video clip of him saying this, Monica Evers, Nick’s mother, commented with the lyrics to a song called “Short D*** Man.”

Nick Evers’ mother calls out Lincoln Riley

“All I could hear was some version of this old club song…” said Monica Evers of Riley’s comments. “‘Iny weeny teeny weeny shriveled little small mouthed man. Don’t want don’t want don’t want don’t want…’ But it’s done now. Let’s just kick some a**.”

Nick Evers is well on his way to becoming a favorite among Sooners fans as he stands to take over the program in the wake of Riley’s departure. The former four-star prospect declaring for Oklahoma was one of the biggest wins in Brent Venables’ short time as head coach of the Sooners. As quarterbacks around the nation found new homes via the transfer portal, former Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers declaring for Texas opened the window for Evers to need a new team.

While Monica Evers may not completely reflect how Nick Evers feels, it appears that his family is already joining the culture around Oklahoma of embracing Riley as a bitter rival. The song she referenced the lyrics to is a club song called “Short D*** Man” while making it fairly clear what she thought of Riley.

Evers’ family was definitely impressed with Venables as a person as he made his decision to commit to Oklahoma. Evers’ mother shared a story of how the new head coach took the time to include her eight-year-old daughter during a recruiting visit, as Venables has previously explained his emphasis on relationships.

“Baby girl’s had a lot of football in her 8 years,” Monica Evers captioned a photo of her daughter with Venables. ”She’s ‘over it’ and was off to the side with my phone. He broke from the commotion for our little girl to feel included. It’s a simple gesture but impactful. People and relationships!”
