Tampa (Fla.) Wharton four-star running back Stacy Gage is visiting Oklahoma this weekend for the Sooners’ rivalry game against Oklahoma State. It is his fourth visit to Norman and first since April 23.

The 5-foot-10.5, 205-pound tailback was at Florida last weekend. Prior to tonight’s kickoff, Gage took a photo on Oklahoma’s field.

Gage is the No. 87 overall prospect and No. 7 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in Florida.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, multiple schools are in a close race for Gage’s commitment. The Gators (22%) and Sooners (19.2%) currently have the two best odds for his pledge.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Earlier this year, Gage was visited by Oklahoma running backs coach DeMarco Murray. The four-star told On3’s Sam Spiegelman in March that Murray was the coach leading his recruitment for the Sooners.

“He came down to see me a couple of weeks ago,” Gage said. “He’s showing a lot of love and they want me to fit in their program. They think I can change their whole offense.”

The Sooners have no commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. However, Oklahoma’s 2023 class is No. 7 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Big 12.

Gage has an On3 NIL Valuation of $99K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
