Hours after Lincoln Riley’s exit from Oklahoma to USC became official, details started to emerge about compensation. Among many other outlandish details, a report surfaced that USC bought the Riley family’s two Norman houses for $500,000 above market value. Unfortunately for the local homeowners association, that fact has been disproven.

The two homes – one where the family lived, and one the family planned to move into – are now available on the open market, via Home Boy Real Estate.

“Some news,” tweeted SoonerScoop.com writer Eddie Radosevich. “I’ve learned USC did not buy either of Lincoln Riley’s homes in Norman. Both (newly built and old one) are still on the market. If you’re interested in purchasing two beautiful homes (and beat me to the punch) contact Home Boy Real Estate.”

The company later confirmed the listings, posting video tours of each house with the following caption.

“Words out, we’ve got two houses we are trying to sell down here in Norman,” they tweeted. “This place is amazing! More details to come about the big house, which is the most amazing house I’ve ever seen…”

More on Lincoln Riley exit

Lincoln Riley turned the 2021 coaching carousel upside down on Sunday with his Oklahoma exit. He reportedly left Norman, Oklahoma for Los Angeles to become the next head coach at USC.

On Sunday night, USC made it official with a Twitter post introducing Riley as the program’s next head coach.

“We are ecstatic to announce Lincoln Riley as our new head coach and welcome his wife Caitlin and their daughters Sloan and Stella to the Trojan Family,” USC athletic director Mike Bohn said in a press release. “Lincoln is the rarest combination of extraordinary person and elite football coach. His successes and offensive accolades as a head coach the past five years are astonishing. Lincoln will recruit relentlessly, develop his players on and off the field, and implement a strong culture in which the program will operate with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.”

Update from On3’s Matt Zenitz: “The expectation is that defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, co-OC/offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and wide receivers coach Dennis Simmons will be among the Oklahoma assistants that follow Lincoln Riley to USC, sources tell On3.”

Contract details remain in question. Per USA Today, Riley ranked the fifth-highest paid coach this season with a $7.672 million salary.
