Few 2025 prospects have seen their stock rise more in the past few months more than Denton (Texas) Ryan High School five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood.

Haywood, who was first ranked by On3 as a top-20 national prospect, now sits as one of the country’s elite recruits. And he has the offers to back it up. Texas, Oregon, Miami, Texas A&M and more are all in the mix, but right now it’s an out-of-state program trending for the DFW star.

After an expert prediction from InsideTexas.com recruiting insider Justin Wells, the Oklahoma Sooners hold a heavy advantage in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Haywood visited Norman multiple times in the past year and will be back on campus again this summer for an official visit most likely. And nobody is pushing harder for him than OU’s staff.

“They’re one of the hardest recruiters out there right now … they’re definitely recruiting me the hardest,” Haywood previously told On3 of Oklahoma. “Coach Bedenbaugh’s a great guy and I like the way the coaches treat you like people. Coach Venables is a down to earth man, he’s pretty good to be around, he has great energy and always happy.”

… They’re always checking on me no matter what, seeing how I am and how I’m doing, and they stay on top of the game as far as building a relationship with the players — and not just the player, but the person.”

Texas will be in the mix until the end

Even with a prediction going in OU’s favor, Haywood’s recruitment doesn’t look to be ending any time soon. Texas head coach Sarkisian swung through Ryan to visit with the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder in January. And hee’s aiming to get back to Austin in the spring.

“They’re recruiting me hard and I hate that I missed their junior day,” he said. “They’re very been doing a good job recruiting me, they’re one of the top teams in my recruitment. I need to get there to the Forty Acres. I’ve heard great things about Texas, they have some of the best facilities out there, and I’m looking forward to seeing that.”

“They’re staying on the top of the game as far as recruiting me, calling every other day, recruiting me as a person and not just a player,” Haywood added.

Multiple Miami coaches also made the trip up to Denton Ryan to visit Haywood, and he expects to visit Coral Gables in March.

“It was pretty cool to see them bring the whole squad, they really want me bad up there,” Haywood said of the Hurricanes. “I’m hoping to get up there this spring — when the dead period is over. We’ve been getting closer relationship-wise, I love the energy they give off, and they truly want me up there a the University of Miami.”

Oregon OL coach A’lique Terry was another frequenter of Ryan High over the past month. The Ducks are also trending for a visit from Haywood.

“I’m definitely trying to go see Oregon,” he started. “Coach Terry is a good coach and he has the same energy no matter when I talk to him. He’s one of the youngest OL coaches in college football right now and they have a pretty good OL down there. Coach Terry is different, he’s easy to talk to, he’s a younger coach, so it’s easy to talk to him and connect. We clicked the first time we talked and he’s just down to earth.”
