The hits keep on coming for the Oklahoma Sooners. After head coach Lincoln Riley officially made the move to USC, there has been a mass exodus from the program from coaches to recruits to current players.

Wide receiver Theo Wease could be the next to join the movement. According to Mike Roach of Horns247, the former On3 Consensus five-star prospect is expected to enter the transfer portal.

He will have three years left of eligibility due to COVID-19 rules.

Wease has been with the Oklahoma program for three seasons, being the Sooners’ third highest-rated prospect of the 2019 class. Coming out of Allen, TX, the wide receiver will leave Norman with 650 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

After being tied for the team lead in receptions during the 2020 season, Wease has seen limited time this year. He injured himself in practice before the season opener against Tulane and has only appeared in the Sooners’ win against Iowa State. He has not recorded a stat.

Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler intends to enter transfer portal

Wease is not the only former five-star on Oklahoma’s roster expected to enter the transfer portal. On Monday, quarterback Spencer Rattler posted on Twitter, saying he will be searching for a new school. The once Heisman favorite trophy fell out of favor in Norman for Caleb Williams.

“Sooner Nation: Thank you for allowing me to be a student-athlete at this prestigious institution,” Rattler said in a tweet. “Thank you to every teammate and coach these last three seasons. We won several games together and made memories that I will cherish forever. Special thanks to my family and friends for your support. Thank God for the game of football. It’s the ultimate team sport and brings people and communities together unlike anything else. At this time, I would like to announce that I have decided to enter the transfer portal to continue my academic and athletic career. Thank you again, Oklahoma. I will miss you.”

Rattler was benched during the Red River Shootout against Texas after a few turnovers and the Sooners’ offense went stale. He had a shot at redemption against the Baylor Bears but came up short. The former On3 Consensus No. 1 quarterback will have a new home next season.
