Timpson (Texas) four-star athlete Terry Bussey will be taking an official visit to Oklahoma on June 16-18 for the ChampU BBQ event. He announced the news Saturday over Twitter.

Bussey is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Texas.

On3 rates Bussey higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 16 overall prospect, No. 1 athlete and No. 3 player in Texas.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound recruit included Oklahoma in his top 11 schools. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas A&M has a commanding lead for his commitment at 92.4%.

“They’ve got a really good program over there,” Bussey told Billy Embody of The Bengal Tiger about Oklahoma on May 19. “They’ve been at the top for a minute now. Their offense is really dynamic with what coach (Jeff) Lebby is doing. He’s a great coach. Everything he does is elite of elite. He’s great over there. I’ve talked to (Emmett Jones) a little bit. He seems like a great coach. I can’t wait to meet him.”

Bussey also shared with Embody that he is in no rush to announce his commitment.

“I don’t have a specific timeline,” Bussey said. “I’m looking to commit in season or late season, something like that. Relationships will probably play a huge factor in where I go. Overall, it’s the place and if it’s somewhere I feel I can live or be there for a long period of time. That’ll be a huge factor. There are no favorites just yet. There are a couple gameday atmospheres I’ve thought about seeing.”

At the moment, Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class is No. 17 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the SEC. It contains six prospects and is led by Missouri City (Texas) Hightower four-star wide receiver Zion Kearney, the No. 64 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Other recruits scheduled to be in Norman the same weekend as Bussey include Kearney, Bradenton (Fla.) five-star defensive lineman David Stone, Jefferson (Ga.) five-star linebacker Sammy Brown, Lafayette (La.) five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley and McKinney (Texas) Frisco Emerson four-star quarterback and Oklahoma commit Michael Hawkins.
