NFL Championship Sunday is here. With just four teams remaining in this year’s quest for the Super Bowl, all eyes are on Sunday’s games. In those games, there will be quite a few former Oklahoma Sooners players playing on NFL Championship Sunday.

Ahead of the big day in the NFL, Oklahoma tweeted a hype video, previewing the former Sooners that will be in action on for the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams.

Oklahoma has players on each of the four teams remaining in the NFL playoffs. On the Chiefs, former Sooners Blake Bell, Orlando Brown, Creed Humphrey, and James Winchester will be in action. Oklahoma also has multiple players on the Bengals, who play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship. The Bengals have former Oklahoma players Jordan Evans (who is on injured reserve), Samaje Perine, and Joe Mixon.

In the NFC Championship Game, Oklahoma has players on both sides yet again. For the Rams, Bobby Evans and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo are the two former Sooners player in action. The 49ers will have two: Tony Jefferson (injured reserve) and Trent Williams.

Former Oklahoma stars are making their marks on the NFL

Oklahoma’s nine players on NFL active rosters on Championship Sunday is tied with LSU for the most. The Sooners have consistently produced quality talent to the NFL, and that will be on display in the NFC and AFC Championship games.

For the Bengals, their top two in the backfield are former Oklahoma stars. Joe Mixon leads the way, and he had the best season of his five-year NFL career in 2021. Mixon rushed for 1,205 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, adding 42 receptions for 314 yards and three scores. Perine served as Mixon’s primary backup, rushing 55 times for 246 yards and a touchdown, adding 27 receptions for 196 yards and another score.

For the Chiefs, Bell has played sparingly as a tight end behind Travis Kelce. But Oklahoma has produced two starters on the Chiefs’ current offensive line. Orlando Brown was acquired in the offseason from the Baltimore Ravens, and he has locked down a tackle spot protecting Patrick Mahomes. Creed Humphrey is one of the NFL’s top rookies, and he has held down Kansas City’s center position.

In the NFC Championship Game, both the Rams and 49ers rely on former Sooners. For the Rams, Okoronkwo totaled 15 tackles with two sacks and two forced fumbles. Evans also plays a reserve role on the offensive line. On the Chiefs’ offensive line, Trent Williams starts at left tackle. He is arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire league.

The Chiefs and Bengals kick off at 3 p.m. ET, while the Rams and 49ers kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
