Oklahoma State has advanced to the next round of the NIT tournament, but it took an impressive run down the stretch to pick up the win. And that run had some impressive dunks by a handful of Cowboys players. One of which was this alley-oop pass and throwdown to put them up by six.

Youngstown State attempted to put some pressure on the Cowboys’ offense with a full-court press. Guard Caleb Asberry was trapped on the right side edge in the backcourt. Still, kept his composure and passed it out to Bryce Thompson, who then proceeded to shoot down the middle of the court. Before Youngstown State could stop Thompson, he lobbed the ball up to Moussa Cisse for the emphatic dunk.

On Wednesday night, the Cowboys were hosted by the Penguins of Youngstown State, where they were given all they could handle in the first half. Oklahoma State struggled from beyond the arc early, only connecting on two of their 13 three-point attempts in the first half. That led to a 37-33 halftime deficit. But the Cowboys would back in a big way in the second half.

While down 52-47 with 8:25 left in the game, Oklahoma State would go on a 15-2 run. The Cowboys’ run would put them up 62-54 before Youngstown State’s next basket with 1:21 left to play. That lead would prove to be interminable as Oklahoma State went on to win 69-54, advancing to play Eastern Washington.

Oklahoma State might have had a tough time shooting in the game but not rebounding. The Cowboys outrebounded the Penguins 49-34, with three players recording double-digit rebounds. And those three players, Quion Williams, Tyreek Smith, and Cisse, each ended the contest recording a double-double. Arguably the biggest challenge for the Cowboys against Youngstown state was slowing down the Penguins’ dynamo guard Dwayne Cohill. Cohill finished the game with a game-high in points and assists with 25 points and five assists.
