Brooks is the second piece that Oklahoma State has added to its offensive line through the NCAA Transfer Portal, as the Cowboys also recently added Casey Collier, a class of 2020 lineman that spent his first two college seasons with the USC Trojans.

Like Collier, Brooks was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was tabbed the No. 67 interior offensive lineman in the 2020 recruiting class, as well as the No. 136 prospect in the state of Texas. A product of Dobie High School, Brooks spent two years with Vanderbilt, but he still has three years of eligibility due to the NCAA’s blanket waiver during the COVID-19 pandemic.

After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, Brooks was a higher-rated target than he was coming out of high school. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive lineman was tabbed the No. 28 overall interior offensive lineman in the portal this offseason.
