The numbers are out for Ole Miss baseball head coach Mike Bianco’s new contract extension. The extension which keeps him in place as the Rebels’ skipper for four more years nets Bianco roughly $1.625 million in base salary yearly, per D1 Baseball. The contract also includes performance-based bonus incentives as well.

The 55-year-old coach was previously making $1.2 million a year in base salary. However, his increase now makes him the second-highest paid head baseball coach in the SEC, following Vanderbilt’s Tim Corbin.

Bianco could get numerous base salary bumps, including $50,000 if they reach the College World Series, and $100K if the program wins the CWS.

D1 Baseball also broke down Bianco’s loaded list of bonus incentives:

  • $15K to win the SEC West
  • $25K for a conference regular season crown, tournament crown, SEC COTY, or hosting regional
  • $15K for being in a super regional but not hosting
  • $25K for hosting a super regional
  • One-time $150K bonus for making the MCWS
  • $300K for playing for a national championship
  • $400K if the program wins another national title
  • $50K for winning National Coach of the Year honors

Bianco could also cash in the longer he notches wins with the Rebels. He’ll get $125K at 900 wins, $250K for 1,000 wins, $250K for 1,100 wins, $250K for becoming the winningest coach in the SEC and $250K for reaching win No. 1,200 at Ole Miss.

Bianco reacts to new contract

Mike Bianco has been the Ole Miss head coach for nearly two decades and finally completed his ultimate goal this summer. The Rebels not only made it to the College World Series for the second time in his tenure but finally won a national championship.

Bianco is “ecstatic” to prolong his time with the Rebels. He took some time to thank the fans for all the support over the years.

“I appreciate Keith, Chancellor Boyce and our Board of Trustees for proactively and aggressively getting this done,” Bianco said in a statement. “I am ecstatic about continuing to lead this incredible program with the support of a community that means so much to Camie and me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is no better fan base in the country.

“We’ve always known that but after what you guys did in Omaha, the entire country knows it – Rebel fans showed up and made a difference! As always, none of this happens without the incredible players and coaches who have helped us build this program along the way. I can’t wait to see everyone back at Swayze next spring, and I am proud to be an Ole Miss Rebel.”
