Class of 2023 Top-100 prospect Jordan Burks has committed to Ole Miss, he tells On3.

The 6-foot-9, 180-pound small forward originally from Decatur, Ala. chose the Rebels over offers from Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas Tech, and others. Burks will spend his senior year of high school at Kingsmen Academy, a new prep school in Gainesville, Fla. He spent last season at Central Pointe Christian in Kissimmee.

Burks is a three-star recruit that ranks 127th nationally in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. However, On3’s evaluators are much higher than the industry on Burks, ranking him as a four-star recruit and 88th nationally.

Joining Burks in Oxford is four-star power forward Rashaud Marshall and three-star small forward Jacob Gazzo. Ole Miss is also targeting 2023 recruits Tylaur Johnson, Josh Hubbard, and others.

Burks on his commitment to Ole Miss

“I chose Ole Miss because of the love I was shown in recruiting,” Burks said to On3. “I know coaches try to make you feel like you’re the only one but I feel they have opened up to who I am truly and I don’t have to pretend. But I can just go there, be who I am, and get the work started.”

Burks says he feels Oxford can be his new home.

“I feel like I can create a second home at Ole Miss and make my mark while bringing success and a new mentality to approaching the hard work of every day while having high spirits.”

What type of player is Ole Miss getting in Jordan Burks?

“A workhorse,” Burks says. “No matter the time of day. Success is what I want, whether that be on the court or in the classroom, and just in life in general. Even on my worst days, I give 100% effort because I would rather say I gave it my all and missed rather than have excuses and not learn a lesson.”

Burks has a message for the Ole Miss fan base.

“My message to the fans is to get ready for the highlight reels and ESPN Top 10! Along with SEC championship banners and March Madness brackets getting busted by the Rebels.”
