Jaxson Dart got a massive victory under his belt last week when Ole Miss defeated Kentucky 22-19. But that doesn’t mean his performance was perfect.

Just ask his head coach.

Lane Kiffin provided another blunt assessment of Dart’s day against Kentucky. The USC transfer completed 15 of 29 passes for 213 yards in the air while taking eight carries for 40 yards on the ground. He also threw one big first-half interception, which Kiffin noted, but he also said Dart rose to the occasion in such an important conference matchup.

“I think Jaxson — outside of the interception, which was horrible — did the big things really well,” Kiffin said. “Made some really big throws, some really off-balance throws, having to fade back and lobbing them over there. There were some little things that really could’ve broke the game open, if he would’ve done right. That will come as he gets more experience. But I thought that for a game like that, that he did really well.”

The victory not only moved the Rebels to 5-0 on the season, but also put them in the top 10 of the AP Top 25. Ole Miss will try to carry that momentum into this week’s showdown against Vanderbilt.

Lane Kiffin thanks crowd for Week 5 effort, challenges them for Week 7

Prior to Ole Miss’ Week 5 game against Kentucky, Lane Kiffin wasn’t happy with the fan support that Ole Miss had been receiving at home games. In response, Ole Miss fans came out in massive numbers to cheer on the Rebels.

Kiffin noticed the fan support and took to Twitter to thank the fans for their effort. Using lighting and megaphone emojis, he said that the crowd was great for all four quarters and that they made a difference in the game.

After that, Kiffin also issued a challenge to the fans. Do it again.

Kiffin’s tweet was a quote tweet from a post made by the team’s account. That post gave a point of view look at what it’s like to take the field as a football player at Ole Miss. The video starts in the tunnel, showing Jaxson Dart walking through the tunnel, before turning to come out of the tunnel onto the field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
