Lane Kiffin revealed the reason his dog, Juice, was sent home from the SEC spring meetings early with Juice’s Twitter debut. Kiffin previously shared a picture of him driving Juice home after just one day at the SEC meetings in Destin, Florida — and joked that he was the only one ejected from the event despite the ongoing battle of words between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher.

On Wednesday, the now-famous “unofficial mascot” of Ole Miss football had his own Twitter account — and used his first Tweet to claim the SEC picked a hotel that couldn’t accommodate dogs.

Juice Kiffin petitions SEC for a better hotel

Juice’s debut on Twitter came with plenty of opinions and personality, but apparently the real reason he was sent home after day one of the SEC meetings was because he had nowhere to stay that night. Kiffin himself explained on Wednesday that he actually returned to Ole Miss in the middle of the meetings because they were hosting official visits — but Juice’s petition for a dog friendly hotel might affect next year’s meetings.

In addition to his fun criticism of the SEC, Juice was sure to let rival Mississippi State fans know that he might bite them if they got too close. Unfortunately, Juice also admitted that he would do the same for Ole Miss fans too as he struggles with learning not to bite at the moment.

Juice even managed to get another dig in at the NIL and recruiting jokes facing Texas A&M, after a fan joked that Fisher was willing to “pay” Juice three meals a day. Juice replied simply that he was “only interested in academics.”

Alongside his debut posts taking shots at rivals and Lane Kiffin alike, Juice is another part of a big weekend for the SEC as they continue to ride a wave of success and popularity. Between having Alabama and Georgia face off in the College Football Playoff, the public grievances shared by Saban and Fisher, and the growing talks about the SEC separating itself from the NCAA — there’s no question that the conference’s influence continues to grow.
