After a disappointing outing against Alabama last weekend, it didn’t take long for the Ole Miss offense to return with a fury.

Ultimately, the Rebels won 52-21 in a shootout with Arkansas in Oxford which ended with nearly 1,300 yards of total offense and 60 first downs. The vast majority of Ole Miss’ offense was thanks to quarterback Matt Corral and one of his top running backs, Snoop Conner.

With just over nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Corral launched this beautiful 59-yard throw to receiver Braylon Sanders.

The completion set up a one-yard touchdown run by Conner, his third on the day. With the score, Ole Miss took a 45-38 lead over the Razorbacks.

After the game started with two punts, the two SEC West offenses got going quickly, alternating touchdowns on each of their next two drives on the way to a 14-14 tie. Ole Miss took a 21-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Ultimately, the “bounce back bowl” featured five ties, and neither team led by more than 10 points at any time during the game.

Corral ended the day 14-for-21 with 287 yards and two touchdown passes plus 15 carries for 94 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Although this 12-yard run was called back for offensive holding, Corral’s ability to avoid being brought down shows just how physical the Heisman candidate is.

The Rebels certainly showed the country they are a formidable offense despite the thrashing in Tuscaloosa last weekend. Excluding the Alabama game, Ole Miss has averaged 629 yards per game.

Next weekend they face another hot offense in Knoxville. Tennessee is 4-2 and has scored 62 and 45 points in their last two games. On Saturday, they led South Carolina 28-0 in the first quarter.

Rebels mercilessly trolled the Razorbacks after the win

Unsurprisingly, the Rebels are having plenty of fun after escaping Arkansas at the last second, taking to Twitter to troll the Razorbacks repeatedly. The Rebels used Arkansas coach Sam Pittman’s signature catchphrase to poke fun at the Hogs with a website called DidArkansasLose.com.

Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson threw a touchdown pass to Warren Thompson as time expired. The PAT would tie the game and force overtime, but the Razorbacks instead opted to go for the two-point conversion. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful as the Rebels pulled off a 52-51 victory.
