According to Matt Zenitz of On3, Ole Miss linebacker MoMo Sanogo has entered the transfer portal. The senior played in 46 career games for the Rebel over a five-year span.

Sanogo was a member of the 2017 class, making an instant impact on the defense. He played in and started in all 12 games his sophomore season, recording a career-high 112 tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss.

During the 2019 season, Sanogo played in two games and started in another before suffering a season-ending injury. He took a redshirt season, playing the 2020 season as a redshirt junior. Thanks to the COVID-19 rules, the linebacker will have one more year of eligibility remaining at his school of choice.

Sanogo was a three-star recruit on the On3 Consensus coming out of Plano West High School. He had offers from the likes of Baylor, Boise State, Houston, and UCLA.

Second linebacker enters transfer portal for Ole Miss

Sanogo was not the only Ole Miss linebacker to enter the transfer portal on Monday. According to 247Sports, Daylen Gill will also be leaving the Rebel program. He was a 2020 JUCO enrolled and finished his career in Oxford with 23 career tackles.

There’s never a dull moment in the SEC with Lane Kiffin. Ever since he was hired by Ole Miss to be their head coach, he’s provided plenty of funny and memorable moments, especially on Twitter.

Sunday was the latest, with Kiffin tweeting out a picture of a Louisiana license plate. No caption was added, just a picture of the car. This had led people to what this could mean, especially with the LSU head coaching job open.

Kiffin has been linked with a few jobs around the college football carousel, mainly with Florida and Miami. With the Tigers striking out on a few of their top candidates, looking within the SEC West could be the next option.

At the end of the day, Kiffin is most likely out recruiting for the Rebels. He’s been relentless on the trail, recently going to see On3 Consensus five-star quarterback Arch Manning.

However, being able to get a few Twitter interactions and having some fun with a rival would have been too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Ole Miss is fresh off one of the greatest seasons in program history, finishing with a 10-2 record. It’s the first time the Rebels have had 10 wins during the regular season, clinching the feat with an Egg Bowl victory over Mississippi State on Thanksgiving.
